Introduction #
The Gift a Course feature in MooWoodle allows a customer to purchase a course and gift it directly to someone else. Instead of enrolling themselves, the buyer can provide the recipient’s details during checkout, and the course access will be assigned to that person.
This is especially useful for situations like parents buying courses for their children, employers gifting training to employees, or simply giving a course as a present to a friend or colleague.
Enabling Gift a Course #
- Log in to your WordPress dashboard.
- Navigate to MooWoodle → Settings → Bulk Access & Gifting.
- Enable the option “Gift a Course”.
Once enabled, buyers will see additional fields during checkout to enter recipient details.
How Gift a Course Works #
- At checkout, the buyer will find an option to “Gift this course”.
- The buyer must provide the following recipient details:
- Name
- Email address
- After completing the order:
- The course access will be assigned to the recipient instead of the buyer.
- The recipient will receive an email notification with course access details.
- If the recipient does not already have a Moodle account, one will be created automatically using the provided email.
Example Use Cases #
- A parent gifting a course to their child.
- A company purchasing a course for a new employee.
- An individual sending a training course as a birthday or professional gift.
